Jewish Culture
AJR's Head of Volunteer services, Carol Hart, offers a “Jewish Culture” project for non Jewish volunteers, where she speaks about Jewish customs and traditions. Carol runs a similar project as last year in co-operation with the agency Action Reconciliation Services for Peace (ARSP) which supports the AJR by providing non Jewish Polish & German students who act as befrienders. This promises to be a very enjoyable evening.

Hearing
“Supporting our client’s when their hearing becomes limited”
Gabbie Radnor, technology and information manager at the Jewish Deaf Association, informs about difficulties and chances when the hearing of client’s becomes limited and ways to conquer this communication barrier.

Recent training
Dementia
During the summer (June and July 2009) AJR volunteers were very fortunate to have been able to attend two training sessions run by Gill Yentis, an experienced trainer on the issue surrounding dementia. To see the fact sheet that was used at the session click here
