Social Work
The AJR provides social and welfare services to Holocaust refugees and survivors in the United Kingdom
The AJR provides social and welfare services to Holocaust refugees and survivors across the United Kingdom, helping members live with dignity, comfort and independence.
Our experienced social and care workers provide personalised support through a nationwide programme of home visits, assessing members’ individual needs and eligibility for financial assistance to help them remain safely and comfortably in their own homes for as long as possible.
On behalf of the Claims Conference, the AJR administers emergency social, welfare and care funds to cover essential services and expenses, including dental treatment, specialist clothing, urgent home repairs, recuperative care and respite breaks. The largest proportion of this funding supports the AJR’s Homecare programme.
