Become a Memory Loss Volunteer

AJR provides a service to clients who are affected by memory loss

As a Memory Support Volunteer, you’ll provide companionship and meaningful social interaction for Holocaust survivors, refugees and their families who are living with memory loss or dementia.

Through regular visits, you’ll spend time chatting, sharing memories, looking at photographs, listening to music or simply enjoying each other’s company. Your presence can help reduce loneliness, provide reassurance and bring moments of connection and joy. You don’t need previous experience of dementia—just patience, empathy and a willingness to build a trusting relationship.

Full training and ongoing support from AJR will give you the confidence to make a positive difference in someone’s life.
